Ecko Bazz

Connected to the Nyege Nyege scene, Ugandan rapper and MC Ecko Bazz fuses hip hop, grime and dancehall, as well as a ferocious sound straight out of his homeland. His politicised lyrics are screamed in Luganda, exploring violence, religion, drug abuse and the poverty of the Ugandan slums. His live shows feature an incredible kinetic performance on the mic, while his releases on Hakuna Kulala have achieved cult status, including the 2022 album Mmaso.
