Zespół Wokalny Ars Chori

The Ars Chori Vocal Ensemble is a professional group specialising in polyphonic singing. It was founded in 2001 by Maciej Cegielski – composer and conductor, for many years choirmaster and assistant of professional choral ensembles (including the Grand Theatre and the National Philharmonic). Currently, the conductor and artistic director of the ensemble is Zbigniew Tupczyński – a graduate of Choral Conducting in the class of Professor Mieczysław Nowakowski and the Inter-Departmental Study of Early Music conducted by Agata Sapiecha, as well as a tenor in the Choir of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw.

The ensemble's repertoire includes polyphonic a cappella arrangements of well-known and lesser-known compositions by authors from all over the world, as well as concerts and oratorio works accompanied by instrumental ensembles: chamber groups and symphony orchestras. The Ars Chori ensemble specialises in performing early music pieces. Moreover, it participates in thematic concerts with contemporary a capella music and popular music, which are original projects of the Ars Chori Foundation. The ensemble's concerts are often spectacles during which, in addition to singing, one can also admire dancing performed by dance groups and the acting of the announcers. The Ars Chori Vocal Ensemble is an organisational unit of the Ars Chori Foundation. The artistic director of the Ars Chori ensemble is Zbigniew Tupczyński.
