Alphaville

Alphaville is a German synth pop group that was founded in 1983. They became internationally known through their songs such as Big in Japan and Forever Young.

The pop trio, originally consisting of Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens, was initially called Forever Young. The new title Alphaville, stems from the eponymous film by Jean-Luc Godard. To date, the band has released a total of seven albums. The members have changed several times over time, and Alphaville currently consists of vocalist Marian Gold, keyboarder Carsten Brocken, guitarist David Goodes, drummer Jakob Kiersch, and bassist Alexandra Merl.
