Kapela ze Wsi Warszawa

The group has existed since 1997. Its repertoire includes avant-garde interpretations of traditional music, the broadly understood area of Mazovia, the beloved land of Chopin. Despite fidelity to traditional playing and singing techniques, the full inventions of performing old songs sound surprisingly avant-garde and are fully understood by the contemporary recipient. Although in the instrumentation of the band we hear traditional instruments - violins, cymbals, barabans - they sound very modern, and the musicians are not afraid to put them together even with djs. The band has won many awards at Polish and international folk festivals.
