Kochanowski Theatre in Opole

The Jan Kochanowski Theatre has been operating in Opole since January 1975. Construction began in November 1965 at the then Lenin Square (now Theatre Square), on the site of the former foundations of the Kulturhaus. The opening of the Theatre took place on 23 January 1975. The Jan Kochanowski Theatre is the organiser of the Opole Theatre Confrontations "The Living Classics", hosting the best productions of Polish classics from across the country competing for the Grand Prix.
