DJ and producer K Alexi is one of Chicago's true heroes and is considered by many to be a pioneer of the city's sound. Moving in the right circles from the age of 12, K befriended global legends like Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy while attending the famed Warehouse.
K's upbringing in Chicago in the '70s and '80s meant he was exposed to a range of genres and different styles of music, including Stevie Wonder, Prince, Curtis Mayfield and David Huff - and those very names would prove to be the roots of his influence. His first pressing, Essence of a Dream, is still considered a classic today. A string of successful hits, remixes and collaborations with other artists led to his talents being sought after by artists as diverse as the Pet Shop Boys, DJ Deep, Derrick May, Angel Abi, D- ROLAND, Paul Johnson, DJ Gregory, Kenny Dope, Mr Lee (who produces for R.
