The German hip-hop formation KIZ comes from Berlin and consists of the members Tarek Ebéné, Maxim, Drüner and Nico. Seyfrid. Their lyrics are politically critical, satirically sexist, provocative and also deal with problems about life in the precariat. They were founded in 2000 and released their first album Das RapDeutschlandKettensägenMassaker in 2005. Their mixtape Böhse Enkelz was released in 2006, the same year they went on a tour of Germany together with the Bloodhound Gang. A year later they went on a tour with Kollegah, DJ Zettt and Prinz Pi.
The first full album Hahnenkampf came out in 2007 and reached number 9 on the German album charts. In 2012 on the World Women's Day, the band gave a concert in Kreuzberg, as in the previous year, that was only open to women, which has been continued every year since then. In 2015 the album Hurra die Welt geht unter, which successful title song was recorded together with Henning May by Annenmaykantereit.
The hip-hop band is politically active, including candidacies for the German party DIE PARTEI_ (Nico and Maxim) in the Berlin district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. In 2018, they took part in the concer_t Wir sind mehr against xenophobia in Chemnitz with other German artists.
