Jónbjörn
Jónbjörn is a DJ and producer from Iceland based in Berlin. He releases his music through imprints such as D.KO Recordings, Falk, Neo Violence and many others.
His source of creativity originates in a small valley between two mountains in the Icelandic Westfjords. The influences of his home can be heard in his sonic explorations that comprise genres such as 90s IDM, acid breaks and soft and mellow deep house vibes.
Jónbjörn has been running the Reykjavík-based Lagaffe Tales record label alongside his friend Viktor Birgiss for several years. The imprint has grown from being a fun project of two friends to one of the main pillars in the house scene of Iceland.
Jónbjörn is also an accomplished DJ, performing in Berlin, Vienna, Munich and at festivals like Sonár Reykjavík, while carving a solo career both as a graphic designer and music producer and developing his own sound. After forming the project Húsverk, a book and a 12-inch EP with Icelandic house music, he released the Buffy EP in 2017 on the Czech Neo Violence imprint as well as a 12-inch split vinyl EP with D.KO Records, Eastern Split.
In 2018 he released a record through Icelandic experimental electronic label Falk Records.
