Instytut Kultury Miejskiej
The Institute of Urban Culture was established in 2012 as a result of the transformation of the entity that coordinated Gdansk's efforts to become the European Capital of Culture 2016. It is an open cultural institution where people can come regularly for thematic lectures, film series, intimate concerts and training sessions. It organizes festivals (art in public space, literary), urban actions and guided walks, conducts research at the Cultural Observatory and publishes books. It focuses on open culture, connected to Gdansk and its neighborhoods, accessible to residents and co-created with them.
