Granary
The creation of permanent exhibitions in the Granary, the home of the Department of Ethnography, has been a consistently implemented plan for the expansion and development of the Mazovian Museum in Płock for ten years. The next stage of this project was concentrated in the Granary. This historic building from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries had for years housed a warehouse for ethnographic collections and a space for temporary exhibitions. The building was in need of renovation, strengthening and insulation of the roof, which was a prerequisite for the realisation of the exhibition plans. The storehouse of the Department of Ethnography of the Mazovian Museum in Płock housed over 9,500 museum artefacts from all over Mazovia, including folk costumes, textiles, a collection of sculpture, ceramics and folk cut-outs. The Granary has completely changed its appearance and is now a place of multiple ethnographic exhibits.
