Gminny Ośrodek Kultury w Kłodawie
The Communal Cultural Centre in Kłodawa was established in 1985 and its first seat was Wojcieszyce. The aim of the centre is to disseminate and organise cultural life in the Kłodawa Municipality. GOK is responsible for supervising community centres that operate in ten villages and organise leisure activities for their residents. Permanent classes are held several times a week, run by female instructors. The community centres also host sections and artistic workshops run by the GOK. Currently, the centre's main premises are in a beautiful location, right by the lake in Kłodawa. GOK is the organiser of annual mass events, such as Kłodawa May Day, Kłodawa Rock Night or Harvest Festival, co-organiser of village events, fire-fighters' competitions, senior citizens' meetings and initiator of many events related to the centre's current activities: vocal reviews, artistic workshops, family picnics and sports and recreation events.
Seven vocal and musical ensembles are also thriving under the wings of the centre: Bukowina and Kosy from Zdroisko, Brzezinki from Santock, Od Nowa from Wojcieszyce, Kłodawianki from Kłodawa and Róży Kwiat from Różanki. The groups cultivate folk traditions, willingly taking part in municipal events and organising their own – associated with a specific climate – feast meetings in the area of their sołectwo. There are also Senior Citizens' Clubs in each village, bringing together people over the age of 60. The clubs organise regular meetings, sports and rehabilitation activities, card tournaments, special events, joint integration trips and help organise village and municipal events.
