George Bagdasarov
George Bagdasarov was born and raised in Kazakhstan. He graduated in cybernetics from the Technical University in Kaluga, Russia. He later studied composition at the Moscow Music Academy and also completed the Petrograd Film School. Bagdasarov began his musical career playing guitar in a psychedelic-punk band, eventually moving to conceptual techno and free improvisation involving miscellaneous trinkets found at flea markets. He has performed in various trans-genre international projects, collaborating with musicians including Richard Deutsch, Jérôme Noetinger, Yoshio Machida, Yutaka Makino, and others. Since 2005 he has lived in Prague, where he has completed a PhD at FAMU. He is involved in numerous collaborations, from free improvisations for the Prague Improvisation Orchestra through audiovisual performances to live musical accompaniments of experimental film. He plays the saxophone, guitar, and record player.
