DJ Grace Kelly
DJ Grace Kelly moved from Bahia, Brazil, to Berlin in 1996. Two years later, she started her DJ career supporting Afoxé Loni, a musically sophisticated carnival group from Berlin's Carnval of Cultures. In 2000, she was invited to perform at the Heimatklänge festival in Berlin. Since then, she has enjoyed great success, and delighted many dance floors across both Berlin and the entire globe.
DJ Grace Kelly presents Afro-Brazilian music and Latin American sounds such as Baile funk, filtered through electro and house. Like many cross-cultural DJs she embraces new influences, from Oriental breakbeats to Eastern European rhythms, that bring finesse to her mixes.
Besides performing at various venues DJ Grace Kelly has established her own party named Mundo Mix, which she ran for several years in Berlin, inviting intriguing musical guests to develop the old world music label further.
She also hosted an own radio show, Selektor – Brazil Beats at rbb's RadioMultikulti, a public station, until its closure in 2008, presenting the multifaceted sounds of Brazil.
