Hip-Hop, Pop | The post-hardcore band was founded in 2005 in Sacramento in the USA and emerged from the previous band by guitarist Will Swan and drummer Matt Mingus. Dance Gavin Dance can look back on a discography with numerous publications.
The band is not only characterized by the continuous expansion and development of their musical reportior, because the influences have also become numerous. Back then from the post-hardcore scene, the songs of Dance Gavin Dance are influenced from different styles, such as screamo, funk, pop, disco, hip-hop and more. They self-released their first EP, Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean, during the summer of 2006. Shortly afterwards, they were approached and then signed by Rise Records and the EP was re-released with the Rise and Victory labels in 2006.
