Basia Songin

Performer, singer, composer and storyteller. She is the co-founder of the bands Sutari, Mehehe, Kuso and Umai. She plays a variety of instruments, including two original stringed instruments - the Wolf and the Owl. Her work explores vocal techniques, particularly those derived from various traditional cultures. She experiments with the sounds and possibilities of the voice in original musical and theatrical projects. She collects oral and sung stories, especially traditional magic stories and dreams. She specialises in Polish traditional music, contemporary arrangements of traditional music and Lithuanian Sutartines songs.
