Bacówka nad Wierchomlą
Lying in the Polish Beskid Sądecki, the mountain cabin over Wierchomla is located at a height of 890 meters above sea level, on a mostly covered with mountain pastures section of the ridge, just between Pusta Wielka (1061 meters above sea level) and Runk (1080 meters above sea level), above Wierchomla Mała. The hostel was established in 1978, as a part of the network of Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society (PTTK) qualified tourism cabins. The building itself is that of an old granary from the nearby village of Złockie, which, through the efforts of Krynica's PTTK activists, was purchased in the late 1960s and transported in parts to the mountains. The wooden cabin has a spacious fireplace room, a scenic veranda and accommodation rooms upstairs. Next to it stands a Finnish-style cottage with two accommodation segments (each designed for 4-6 people). In total, the shepherd's hut has 40 beds in 2-, 3- and 4-bed rooms, as well as a free-standing Finnish sauna, ski room, drying room, tool room for simple bicycle repairs, tourist kitchen, bicycle garage and snowshoe rental services.
