Anna Wiktoria Swoboda

She graduated with honours from the lute class at the Academy of Music in Krakow under Jerzy Żak and at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen (Germany) under Rolf Lislevand. She is particularly fond of solo music of the 17th and 18th century for the baroque lute and chamber music with the use of the theory and baroque guitar as continuo instruments. She is also a graduate of the Faculty of Literary Comparatistics at the Institute of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University. She has perfected her playing by attending many master classes conducted by Hopkinson Smith, Jacob Lindberg, Joachim Held, Jürgen Hübscher, Evangelina Mascardi and Anton Birula. Scholarship holder of the Baden-Württemberg-Stipendium and Die Vössing-Stiftung. In her basso continuo, she has worked with soloists and ensembles both at home and abroad, as well as with the opera theatres in Stuttgart (Wilhelm Theater), Pforzheim and Krakow and with Danmarks Radio Orkestret, Hochschule der Künste Bern and Hochschule für Musik u. Theater Leipzig. She took part in the premiere performance and recording of the oratorio Golia abbattuto by A. Melani (dir. J. Żak), in the recording of the soundtrack to the play "School of Wives" for the Television Theatre (muz. A. Konarski, dir. J. Stuhr) and the M series. Stachowski Amoretti series (1982) and the collections of Bibliothec Rudolphin, as well as the audiovisual registration of works from the Krzeszów tabulatures. He is one of the editors in the international project Le Luth Doré. He conducts classes of Lute and Old Pulled Instruments at the B. Rutkowski Secondary Music School in Kraków and at the Academy of Music in Katowice.
