Agnieszka Rehlis
Born 12 April 1983 in Jelenia Góra. Considered one of the most outstanding mezzo-sopranos of her generation. She graduated from the Academy of Music in Wrocław in the class of Professor Barbara Ewa Werner. In 1996-2007 she was a soloist of the Wrocław Opera where she performed many significant roles on the opera stage. Since 2007 she has been exclusively a free-lance artist. For many years the artist specialized mainly in concert activity (oratorio and cantata works). Her repertoire includes over 80 such items, from J. S. Bach's works to K. Penderecki's compositions. She has given concerts in philharmonic halls in Poland and Europe (Germany, Holland, France, Italy, Ukraine, Lithuania, Austria, Latvia, Russia, Slovenia, Spain). She took part in many international festivals. From 1999 to 2017, the artist collaborated with Maestro Krzysztof Penderecki by repeatedly participating in concerts conducted by the Master and by other conductors, performing works such as: Polish Requiem, Te Deum, Credo, Seven Gates of Jerusalem, Morning. In 2014, she participated in the world premiere of K.Penderecki's Dies Illa in Brussels as part of the Thousand voices for peace project. The following year she recorded the work, which was included on the album Penderecki conducts Penderecki and was awarded a Grammy in 2017 in the choral music category.
Recent years, in addition to important performances of oratorio music, brought the artist success in the field of opera, the artist appeared in the first stage production of the opera "Passenger" by M. Weinberg in Bregenz, directed by David Poutney, she also sang at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in a guest ballet performance of the Grand Theatre - National Opera in Warsaw - Chopin. Outstanding roles in premiere spectacles at the Grand Theatre-National Opera such as: Mafio Orsini in G. Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia, Lisa in M. Weinberg's The Passenger or R. Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder to words by Mathilde Wesendonck during the premiere of the ballet Tristan, Hagar in E. Knapik, Marta in P. Tchaikovsky's Jolanta or Fenena in G. Verdi's Nabucco, were all highly acclaimed by audiences and critics. In 2012 she debuted at the Kraków Opera in the role of the Composer in R. Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos and in 2013 in 2 roles: Orpheus Orpheus and Eurydice by Ch.W. Gluck and Azucena Trubadur by G. Verdi.
